GHOSTS OF BODY is a video-portraits-collection in which the sensitive performative moment of Butoh-presence and -movement is captured to express affection and anonymity of the body.

Alisa Berger devoted herself to this topic during her DAAD scholarship in Japan. She studied the Japanese technique Butoh, focusing on the teachings of Tatsumi Hijikatas and Kazuo Ohno.

Alisa reflects within a poetic narrative form on the physical and emotional states that were produced within herself during her own performance of Butoh. In these poetic reflection she engages partly with the writings of Tatsumi Hijikata „Nihonjin to Hijikata Tatsumi - Nikutai no Hanran“.
